FIRST IN PI: THORN RUN PARTNERS ADDS NEW PARTNER: Thorn Run Partners has added Jim Davenport as a partner. In an interview with PI, Davenport said he admired Thorn Run Partners' "very innovative strategic communications practice." For the past 18 years, Davenport has represented public entities, including cities, counties, school districts, airports, navigation districts and independent tax authorities. He said that while he knows how to handle those clients, he previously was not able to offer them "strategic communications in the PR world because of a lot of firms don't do that." Davenport said his move to Thorn Run Partners was "a way to offer them a new, creative service since things are changing so rapidly on Capitol Hill."

– In addition, he noted that Thorn Run Partners offers policy analysis on health care and financial services. "Those were areas that I was not able to offer my clients as well, and it's something I see cities and counties more interested in." Prior to his new gig, Davenport represented local governments as a managing partner at Alcalde & Fay. He said many of his previous clients have already signed up with Thorn Run Partners.
