FIRST IN PI — THORN RUN SNAGS TWO FROM VAN SCOYOC: Thorn Run Partners has poached two lobbyists who specialize in representing local governments from Van Scoyoc Associates. Greg Burns is joining Thorn Run as a partner, and Mary Scott Hardwick will be a vice president. Burns and Hardwick lobbied for more than a dozen counties and cities in California, Florida and Texas in the fourth quarter, according to disclosure filings, sometimes in conjunction with other Van Scoyoc lobbyists. “Coupled with the considerable local government work our Portland[, Ore.,] office already performs under the stewardship of our partner Dan Bates, these two new colleagues are going to supercharge that practice and add a real spark to our firm,” Chris Lamond, a Thorn Run co-founder, said in a statement.
