Max Horowitz joined Thorn Run Partners as a Policy Counsel in November of 2014. With a background in policy and regulatory matters surrounding the health care space, he assists the firm’s health care practice by researching key areas of regulatory concern.
Prior to joining Thorn Run Partners, Mr. Horowitz earned a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Vice President of the Health Law Society. During his law school career, he clerked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as Georgia Regents University, which is home to the Medical College of Georgia.
Mr. Horowitz also brings to Thorn Run experience in applying health care policy on a local government level. During the summer before the first open enrollment period prescribed by the Affordable Care Act, he interned in New York City’s Office of Citywide Health Insurance Access. There, he assisted with the office’s efforts to analyze the law’s impact on access to health insurance for city residents.
Mr. Horowitz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Binghamton University. He has also spent time leading backcountry wilderness adventures for young people.
