Leah Damon joined Thorn Run Partners as a Legislative Assistant in August 2016, bringing a vested background in the political realm at the national and international level. With experience in advancing policy change in both the public and private sectors, she is able to help clients develop a deeper understanding of healthcare policy developments at the federal level. As her capacity as Legislative Assistant, Leah plays an essential role in contributing to the firm's robust healthcare policy practice, and is an active member of the firm's advocacy and communications portfolio.
Before joining Thorn Run Partners, Leah interned for a transportation lobbying firm in Washington D.C., where she sharpened her policy acumen and refined her sense for the level of detail required to operate in the upper echelon of the government relations industry. She previously worked in the office of U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-CA), where she assisted senior staff with research, committee coverage, and district correspondence. Additionally, Leah has served as an aide to the Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons – the Honorable Geoff Regan, in Ottawa, ON – where she oversaw research pertaining to an investigative report passing through the Natural Resources Committee, as well as assisting with preparations for the Speaker's reelection campaign.
Leah graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016 with Bachelors of Arts degrees in both Political Science and Psychology.
