Seth MacKinney joined Thorn Run as a Legislative Assistant in February of 2021 as part of the firm’s extensive policy team. Seth’s substantive experience both as a Capitol Hill staffer and in the private sector make him a valuable addition to the firm’s clients.

Prior to joining Thorn Run, Mr. MacKinney served as a Staff Assistant in the Capitol office of Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA). Before that, he served as an intern for Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA). Also, as an undergraduate, he interned at the Alpine Group, a bipartisan lobbying firm in Washington, DC.

A Maryland native, Mr. MacKinney graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019 with a degree in Political Science. He is also completing a Master’s of International Affairs with a concentration in U.S. foreign policy at George Washington University and will graduate in 2021. He currently lives in Washington, DC within eyeshot of the U.S. Capitol.
