Thorn Run Partners (TRP) (www.thornrun.com) announced today the addition of Greg Lankler as Partner in their Washington, DC office, where he will lead the firm’s national security and intelligence community practice. After spending more than 20 years working in the U.S. House of Representatives and liaising with nearly every department of the federal government, Mr. Lankler has dedicated most of the last decade to helping large and small defense contractors, startups, Fortune 500 corporations, non-profits, and other stakeholders navigate the congressional appropriations process.
Before joining the private sector, Mr. Lankler served for more than ten years on the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee where he managed multiple portfolios including the research and development, procurement, and special access programs for the Air Force, Central Intelligence Agency, and Special Operations Command; the information technology programs for the Department of Defense, Military Services, and Intelligence Community; and the acquisition programs of the Defense-Wide Agencies and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. While on the Subcommittee staff, Mr. Lankler served four different chairmen during both Republican and Democrat majorities.
Lankler’s expertise and insight into national security and intelligence related policy making and his strong background in the appropriations process will be a tremendous asset to the Thorn Run team. Having built a strong and diverse client base over many years in the private sector, Greg’s skill set complements Thorn Run's capabilities to bring even greater value to our clients.
“We are thrilled to add Greg Lankler to our team,” stated TRP co-founding partner Chris Lamond. “Greg’s reputation and expertise are second to none in the field of national security and intelligence, and under his leadership, we are building one of the top practices in the city.”
"I am very impressed with the collaborative, client-focused approach to lobbying at Thorn Run Partners and am truly excited to be working with such a talented group of people.” Lankler said.
