After failing to persuade the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to create a specific registration form for its Registered Index Linked Annuities (RILA), our client turned to the bipartisan team at Thorn Run to create and execute a strategy to codify a new form for the SEC for the industry to register these RILAs.
Using our relationships across Congress and key consumer groups, we brought all stakeholders together to draft a bipartisan-approved bill that passed the Committee unanimously and was ultimately incorporated into an omnibus appropriations bill and signed into law by the President.
